Established in 1973, Hillsdale United Nursery School is a fully licensed, non-sectarian, non-profit preschool dedicated to offering children throughout the Pascack Valley and beyond a quality “first school” experience in a warm and loving environment. Our program focuses on the academic skills needed for success in school, and on the socialization skills that are also necessary for success in school as well as in life. We provide the following:

Small Class Sizes – There are a maximum of 14 children in our Three-Year-Old classes, and a maximum of 17 children in our Four-Year-Old classes. Each class has a teacher and a teacher’s aide. Our small class sizes make it possible for our teachers and aides to give each child the attention they need to develop emotionally, socially, and academically.
Certified Teachers – In addition to having certified teachers with their 4-year degree, our entire staff is experienced and mature. Everyone on staff has undergone state mandated screenings and background checks, and we are all certified in CPR and First Aid.
Wonderful Facilities – Our classrooms are bright, colorful, and spacious. Each room has a block area, a kitchen and dress-up area, an art center, and a cozy carpet for group activities. We also offer a fully fenced playground for outdoor activities, and two “Rainy Day Rooms” for use when the weather is inclement. Each Rainy Day Room has an indoor climber, a sand table, various wooden riding toys, and other gross motor equipment.
Excellent Home-School Communication – Formal written evaluations are sent home in February, but our teachers are always available to speak with you should an issue arise, or if you just need reassurance as to how your child is doing. In addition, the Education Director sends home a monthly newsletter to keep you up to date on everything that’s happening at Hillsdale United.
